Wendy A. Goldsmith, O.D.
Dr. Wendy graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 1991.She completed a post-graduate residency in Ocular Disease at OMNI Eye Services in Memphis in 1991, before entering private practice in New Prague, MN. Dr. Goldsmith specializes in primary eye care, contact lens fittings, ocular disease, surgical co-management and urgent-care services.She served as president of the Minnesota Optometric Association in 2001-2002.
Timothy J. Goldsmith, O.D.
Dr. Tim graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 1992. He specializes in primary eye care, contact lens fittings, ocular disease, Surgical co-management and urgent care services. His also enjoys running the finishing lab located within the New Prague location. Currently, he makes all of the glasses that are purchased at Goldsmith Eye Care with the exception of some insurances that require the use of their own lab. In his time off he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time at his property in the Black Hills.
Kristal L. Jones, O.D.
Dr. Jones is originally from New Prague, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics, Cell Biology and Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Studies. While attending college Dr. Jones worked for Minnesota Eye Consultants as a Research Coordinator, managing drug and device clinical trials. Dr. Jones received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While in optometry school Dr. Jones was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honors society. After graduation Dr. Jones completed a one year residency in Primary Eye Care at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tennessee. During this time she gained further knowledge in managing glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. She also presented a poster on toxic maculopathy due to hydroxychloroquine use at the American Academy of Optometry. She then obtained a position with an ophthalmologist in Southaven, Mississippi and gained valuable experience in cataract, refractive surgery and dry eye management. She is a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association. Dr. Jones currently resides in New Prague with her two children and husband. She works in all practice locations.
Dr. Amanda M. Thurmes, OD
Dr. Thurmes is a native Minnesotan and grew up in St. Michael, MN. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. From there she moved down to Chicago, IL where she received her Doctorate of Optometry, with honors, from the Illinois College of Optometry. During her time at ICO she was a member of Gold Key Honor Society, Tomb and Key Honor Society, and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Thurmes completed a residency in refractive and ocular surgery at Chu Vision Institute in Bloomington, MN where she specialized in corneal disease, co-management of ocular and refractive surgery, and emergent eye care. Dr. Thurmes is a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. In her free time, Dr. Thurmes enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time on the lake.
